Prayers for those Affected by Super Storm Sandy

Looking at the aftermath of the Super Storm named Sandy leaves tears in my eyes and whispered prayers for all my brothers and sisters affected by this disaster.
Today I wanted to share that my heart and my prayers are with you: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, DC, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia and West Virginia.

I was on the West coast of Florida with my family on a mini vacation when the storm began to blow its fury up the east coast of Florida.  I never imagined for a moment that it would cause so much damage and destruction for so many people after leaving Florida peninsula.

In times like this all I know to do is pray. So today and for the rest of this week I am going to intentionally set aside time everyday to pray for each of the states affected by this storm especially NY and NJ.  I am going to pray for peace in the midst of chaos and refuge for those who have lost their homes.

And to the thousands of followers La Chica Organica has in these states please receive a big hug and lots of love via these words.

I hope that wherever you are, you are surrounded by friends and or family that will lend you a hand during this difficult time.

Clean up will be long and tiring and in some areas may not even be possible.  But what’s most important is what we must treasure, and that’s our life.  We never know when we may lose all we have due to a fire, storm, earthquake or other natural disaster.  And so in times like these, material things take a back seat and what is most precious emerges.

Images of a mother holding her little baby, rescued from her flooded home dance in my mind. That is the emerging beauty, the miracle of life and the hope that it will continue. That mother’s face was a priceless image to see as she held on to her little baby.  I can’t help but think that although the mother in the story may have lost it all, she did not lose the little beating heart of her child.

Storms may come, property may be lost but if we have the love and support from family, friends, neighbors and churches we have victory.  It’s a victory that money can’t purchase because it is an invisible coating that covers our hearts and minds.  Waking up and still being able to breathe, walk, talk and be with our loved ones is a glorious blessing we must hold on to with all of our might while it’s still there.

May the strength and peace of God be with you and yours today and always.

Remember to live life as a gift and then give that gift away every day!
Lots of love La Chica Organica
