  1. Hi Yollanda,

Thank you for your comment. These fruits and veggies in particular must be organic because they absorb a high amount of pesticides that are harmful to our bodies when consumed daily and in high quantities.

To see which fruits and veggies absorb more pesticides read this article. http://wp.me/pS0Z7-Bj

  2. Good usefull health drink,

But one doubt , can a diabetic pateints drinke this juice, if s give the quantity, if no what are the draw backs

    • Hi Veena.

Thanks for your comment. To answer your question; vegetable juices do not raise insulin levels like fruit juices do. The only exception to this is carrot and or beet juice which are similar in makeup to fruit juice and can raise insulin levels. As a rule of thumb root vegetables such as carrots and beets tend to be higher in sugar content than leafy greens. You may try a juice with wheat/barley grass, celery, cucumber cabbage and half of an apple, one sm carrot and 1/4 of a small beet to make it palatable at first then cut out the carrot and apple. Another great option, aloe vera juice (containing 80% aloe gel) helps lower blood sugar levels in people with Type 2 diabetes.

    • Thanks for your comment.
Believe it or not greens, vegetables and fruits have most of what the human body needs to help with sickness and disease. Thousands of people around the world have been healed from serious illnesses by changing their diets to incorporate fresh vegetable and fruit juices along with a detoxification program to remove toxins stored in the liver. One of the widely know treatments was discovered and put into place by Dr. Max Gerson. You can check out the two videos below for information on the Gerson therapy. http://wp.me/pS0Z7-Hx and http://wp.me/pS0Z7-b7

    • Sorry…but if you don’t trust the ingredients that are listed..are you going to trust if someone tells you that it’s all true???…

      • Hi there,
If the ingredients are organically grown then by all means they can be trusted as you are not exposing your body to toxic pesticides.
In my lifetime of teaching about health and wellness via food, I have seen over and over again the power of good nutrition to assist in an array of health conditions from cancer to digestive issues to migraines etc…

  3. while using google search I found this miracle drink recipe using PATATO not BEET and the same results by the same guy for both ingredients So what is the truth if there is a truth

    • Thanks for your comment Jim,

Beets and Potatoes have similar curative properties. They both clean and are very rich in alkaline elements and they both help with digestive issues in addition to many other ailments.
IN creation you will often find that one herb or food is similar to another. I work with over 200 different organic herbs and many of them have the same properties but may interact differently with various people. Chamomile and mint tea is an example of this. They both are fabulous at aiding upset stomach and gas but some people get very sleepy from chamomile because that is one of its sought out qualities; where as peppermint does not but can be used for the same purpose.

      Hope that helps!

You can read more on the properties of each one below:

  4. I have started drinking this miracle juice just 3 days ago, for one it is just delicious and it certainly and I can see improvements with my bowel movement.
I blend the apple/carrot/beet together in a juicer with two glasses of water and then I strain this and drink the juice.
Hope it works the way it should I mean with the healthy skin/mind and avoid cancer etc. We all need that in our lives during the daily stresses we go through.

  5. Hi,

My question is if eating with 3 fruits (carrot + Beetroot + apple ) the same time instead of mix juicer… is it the same result? Thanks

    • Hi,
Well there are various benefits for both juicing and eating fruits and veggies. However when a person is ill and requires immediate cleansing and healing, juicing is recommended mainly along with eating raw greens and fruits. When you eat a fruit or , it takes about 30 minutes or so for digestion, while juice happens essentially immediately. But by eating the fruits and vegetables you are getting all the nutrients and fiber.

Juicing is recommended because the act of juicing releases the nutrition so we can more easily get the nutrients. If people were healthier and had perfect digestion, then we wouldn’t really need juicing at all.

      Hope this answers your question.

  6. Is this drink beneficial if someone is presently on chemotherapy for cancer? Could it have any properties that could inhibit the progress of chemo?

  7. Hi…I have thyroid disease. RAI 8 years ago. I take synthroid every morning upon wakening. Is it ok for me to drink this? I have many many issues with my skin, (looks like rosacea w/ acne -not sure) very poor digestion, etc. This appears as if it might help? Thank you in advance for your reply.

    • Thank You for your comment. Unless your doctor has reason to keep you away from natural juices and fruits and vegetables I don’t see where they can hurt you, but i would check with them first.
You might try Dandelion tea as it is a fantastic blood cleanser and has helped many friends of mine with their rosacea. Please see a few testimonials here on this page about rosacea.

  8. I know that beet juice has to be refrigerated for at least 2 hours prior to drinking, did you happen to hear that?

    • I have juiced beetroot and other fruits daily on and off and have never had negative effects and I always drink immediately.
The requirement to let the juice stand in the fridge might be because of the oxalic acid found in beetroot leaves. But when juicing beets YOU DO NOT juice the leaves.

  9. Hi i have been on chemo for breast cancer and it did not help, i am now using chinese ginseng and this juice, i look good and feel much better unlike when i was i was on chemo, any other tips i will appreciate

  10. this drink is tasty and my husband has loss five pounds in three days, the drink works for me during my period with the pain and the flow. I think it should be tried.

  11. Hi thanks for the miracle drink ,I have been drinking it for a while now in the morning on my empty stomach and I feel so revitalized even in the afternoon when I use to be so exhausted, IT DOES WONDERS!!

    • I drank this juice and others while pregnant, but you should ck with your practitioner or dr to make sure just in case there is gestational diabetes, in which case your sugar intake is limited.

  12. I have been taking this juice for two weeks. I have noticed only a change in my bowel movement . For how long am I to take it ? Will it make my blood pressure get too low?

  13. Thanks for this wonderful article. Also happy to see your prompt responses.. 🙂
    I have the following questions.
Can I exercise after consuming this juice?
I do not have a juicer, can I use the blender meanwhile?

    • Your welcome. Funny you ask the first question. These juice along with just plain beetroot juice has been used to help improve stamina while exercising. Many athletes will often juice this and drink it before working out or doing sport training events.

Regarding your second question, it should be juiced. As I wrote in a previous comment: There are various benefits for both juicing and eating fruits and veggies. However when a person is ill and requires immediate cleansing and healing, juicing is recommended mainly along with eating raw greens and fruits. When you eat a fruit or , it takes about 30 minutes or so for digestion, while juice happens essentially immediately. Juicing is recommended because the act of juicing releases the nutrition so we can more easily get the nutrients. If people were healthier and had perfect digestion, then we wouldn’t really need juicing at all.

Many Blessings to you and yours,

    • Hi there,
Tomatoes are very acidic so not all can tolerate them in juice form on a daily basis. You can try alternating days with tomatoes and apples and see how you feel.

  14. thank you for this wonderfull article!
    I have a question:)
It is good for endometriosis too? Or is there another miracle juice can I use for this reason please?
    thank you for your answer:)

    • Dear Ketty,
Thank you for your comment. If you suffer from Endometriosis I feel for you and will keep you in my prayers. This juice will not hurt you. However, foods containing natural plant sterols (phytoestrogens) can be helpful for women battling Endo. They are thought to block the estrogen receptors, so in turn excess estrogen in the body cannot ‘lock-in’ to these receptors. These include:

      peas, beans and pulses
      red and purple berries
      brassicas: cabbage, cauliflower etc
      nuts and seeds
      celery, carrots

Here is some more information that I have stored in my database concerning Endometriosis.

•Magnesium – is a mineral and is believed to ease cramping with menstruation

      • Dear LCO,

You have mentioned that we are to avoid Soy Protein Powder. I have recently started on Nutralite Products – which consists of a Soy based Protein Shake taken along with Multivitamin Tablets called Double X and 2 Omega3 tablets. I have lost 12 Kgs and my blood sugar levels have been consistent ever since I started on this. Even my blood pressure is now under control that I had to stop one of the medications I used to take. Please let me know what you think or know about this. Thank you

      • Thank you Anu for your comment.

I have heard of these supplements but I have never tried them nor have I read up on their research or heard any real life testimonials. If you consume soy make sure its organic or Certified as Non GMO since over 90% of the soy used in the US for manufacturing products and for sale to consumers is genetically modified.

  15. I have startd taking this miracle drink, ths z my third day hoping for the miracle on my weight the rest are bonuses.how long can i start seing results?
    Hey,it tastes great.

    • Hello,

Well its different for revery person, you just have to wait and see how you feel. Please post back in a few weeks and let us know how you feel.

  16. Hi LCO,

Thanks for a nice post & specially for Endometriosis. I am with grade 4 Endometriosis & would like to get confirmed if I can proceed with this Miracle juice. Basically Am quite obessed now & really want to get reduced weight through this option too. Pls suggest.

    • Hi Bhavani,

Your welcome, thank you for your comment. I have enjoyed this juice on and off for years before, during and after all my pregnancies. I know many moms who also enjoy this fabulous juice and love it. There are a few people I know with Endometriosis that have also juiced this juice and love it. My advice is check with your health practitioner or dr and make sure there are no underlining issues as to why you should avoid this juice. As with all things we must research to ensure a specific remedy is good for us.

On a side note you can read about organic dandelion tea which is used all around the world as a diuretic, blood cleanser and according to several books and herbalists, has been used by women with endometriosis. Dandelion is a wonderful blood cleanser and we use it at home in many of our herbal remedies.

      Many Blessings

  17. Hi I have been drinking it for few months now and it really works.. it makes u feel fresh and confident. I had a query it is said it even helps in reducing does it really work on that ?

  18. Hello LCO,

With one Beetroot, one carrot and one apple, I can’t make even a glass of juice. Should I add more carrots or apples when I I juice?

    Best regards,

    • Hi Frank,

Thanks for asking. Well yes, if your carrots and apples are small then yes add an extra carrot or two or an extra carrot and half of a small apple.
      Many Blessings,
      La Chica Organica

  19. Hi

Can i juice this 3 fruits at night and keep in the refigerator, than the next morning i drink?

    • Nash,

Yes you can but I don’t recommended it since fresh juice oxidizes and looses its nutritional value. But of you had to juice the night before then add a few lemon juice drops to reduce the oxidation.

  20. Can I have this drink in the evening? I leave very early for work! Will it have the same effects if I drink it between 8 to 9 in the evening? Is there any research that shows it will heal severe dry eyes? Thank you.

    • Hi Susan,

If you are going to make this juice I would recommend you make it several hours before you retire to bed and on an empty stomach. It can give you a boost in energy so the earlier you take it, the better for you.

What is wing with your eyes? The inside is dry or the outside?

    • I was recently diagnosed with severe dry eye syndrome. According to the doctor it was chronic and progressive and there was no permanent cure. I have stinging and burning in my eyes when working on computers and watching TV. Strong winds and cold weather really bothers my eyes. I need to insert punctal plugs to keep the tears in my eyes. Do you know any good recipe?

I am a Christian myself and I do believe in prayers! Thank you.

      • Hi Susan,

Although this is one area I do not have experience in, here is some info I found online that you might find helpful:

Any condition that reduces the production, alters the composition or impedes with the distribution of the tear film may result in dry eyes. Like most eye conditions, dry eye syndrome is often related to other health conditions in the rest of the body. It is commonly associated with dryness of other mucous membranes, interior body surfaces such as joints and brittle nails. It also can be a sign of digestive imbalances or of more serious autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, Sjogren’s syndrome or lupus erythematosus.

These diseases trigger an immune response generating lymphocytes that slowly destroy the cells responsible for tear production and secretion. As a result, tear volume decreases, cells in the conjunctiva decrease and corneal cells can be lost, creating dry spots. In Sjogren’s syndrome, for instance, the entire lacrimal gland, responsible for 90 percent of tear production, may be destroyed by the invasion of inflammatory lymphocytes.

        Who Gets Dry Eyes

Dry eyes are mostly a health problem for women and seems to be a result of fluctuations in hormonal levels, particularly estrogen and androgens. Pregnant women, women who use birth control pills and post-menopausal women on hormone replacement therapy frequently report dry eyes.

Dry eyes in post- menopausal women also can be a sign of Sjogren’s Syndrome. This condition, which afflicts four million American women, is considered the most commonly misdiagnosed of all health conditions over the age of 40. In Sjogren’s syndrome, dry eyes are accompanied by dryness in other parts of the body: dry mouth, dry joints (arthritis), sore throat, dry skin, dry cracked lips, dry scalp (dandruff) and brittle nails. This pattern of symptoms is produced by an auto-immune process in which antibodies attack fluid secreting cells. Fatigue and dental cavities are often present.

Dry eyes can also be an isolated problem. Older people naturally have drier eyes, because as we get older, our eyes produce on average 40 percent less lubrication. Free radicals are partly to blame; they take their toll over time, damaging body tissues and increasing the prevalence of dry eye symptoms. Some people lack a sufficient amount of tears, or their tears might have the wrong composition. In addition, a problem with the eyelid can prevent the tears from distributing over the eyes properly.

Forty percent of dry eye patients are smokers, so tobacco smoke, environmental allergens, air conditioning and wind may also cause dry eyes. Many medications trigger dry eyes, most commonly antihistamines, codeine, decongestants, diuretics, morphine, oral contraceptives and even eye drops such as Visine and Murine.

        Prevention & Treatment

One of the most important aspects for people who suffer from dry eyes is the prohibition against sugar and/or artificial sweeteners. Sugar increases the risk for dry eyes. Consumption of more than 11 teaspoons of sugar per day (most of which is hidden in processed foods) has been linked to dry eye syndrome. A single can of soda contains about nine teaspoons of sugar and sugar is hidden throughout processed and refined foods in cereals, including a substantial amount of sugar in ketchup and salad dressings.
Avoid the toxic fats in commercial red meats, dairy products, fried foods and hydrogenated oils (such as margarine and shortening). These fats interfere with the proper metabolism of essential fatty acids in the body and are indirect causes of dry eye syndrome.
If you suffer from Sjogren’s syndrome, you are deficient in gastric acids, particularly hydrochloric acid and pepsin. Acidophilus, bifidus and other friendly bacterial flora supplements are recommended to improve the function of the gastrointestinal tract. We recommend about six billion viable organisms (in a probiotic supplement) three times a day.

        Vitamins & Minerals
The following are some of the essential nutrients for treating dry eyes:
        • Recommended Nutrients
        • Vitamin A: In parts of the world where vitamin A deficiency is widespread, severe dry eye syndrome is a leading cause of blindness. Vitamin A is needed for the health of all epithelial (surface) tissues; it is actually found in the tear film of healthy eyes, and is fundamental to the production of the mucous layer of the tears.
We recommend eye drops containing vitamin A because they protect the eyes from free radicals, such as toxins, irritants, allergens and inflammation. In addition, take a daily dose of 10,000 I.U. of vitamin A and 25,000 I.U. of beta-carotene (also called pro-vitamin A because it converts to vitamin a in the body).

Note: before beginning a regimen of vitamin A or beta-carotene, have your thyroid activity checked by your doctor. Hypothyroid patients – people with underactive thyroids – are always vitamin A deficient. They cannot convert beta-carotene to vitamin A, nor can they convert vitamin A to the form usable by the eyes. One way to check this yourself is to take your temperature under your arm when you wake up in the morning, but before you get out of bed. If it is regularly below 97.8 F degrees , you might have any underactive thyroid.
        • Vitamin B6: All of the B vitamins are important in treating dry eyes, but vitamin B6 aids in the proper absorption of magnesium. Magnesium helps the body produce a hormone called prostaglandin E-7, which is necessary for tear production.
        • Vitamin C: Vitamin C is concentrated in the tear film to a higher level than that found in the blood.
        • Potassium: Probably the most important mineral for dry eye symptoms, potassium is usually very low in dry eye patients. This is usually linked to low intakes of folic acid, vitamin C and vitamin B6 along with high sugar consumption. You can take in at least 500 mg per day by increasing your consumption of fruits and vegetables (one banana contains 400 mg).
        • Essential Fatty Acids: These are important for the production of both the oily, lipid and the watery aqueous layers of the tear film. After only ten days of taking essential fatty acids plus vitamins B6 and vitamin C, dry eye sufferers have seen an increase in tear production.

        Traditional Chinese Medicine

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, we view dry eyes as a deficiency in the kidney and liver meridians. The flow of tears is controlled by the liver, and the kidneys play an important role in whether dryness is present anywhere in the body. The Chinese formula we recommend is called Lycii-

        Emotions & Dry Eyes
One researcher found that the level of a stress chemical found in tears (called prolactin) may play a role in determining why women cry four times more easily then men. Prolactin is a hormone that helps stimulate the production of milk. Might women cry more often because they have naturally higher levels of this hormone?
This research suggests that one reason we cry might be to decrease the level of stress chemicals that can eventually affect our health. According to this theory the willingness to cry when under emotional pressure may help prevent stress-related disease.

  21. hi ,

Can i drink this juice while breast feeding? Is it safe for the baby.

what are the benefits of having this juice after 60 years of age.Any other health benefits

    • Hello,

I drank this juice while nursing and still do from time to time and I am still nursing. From my research and experience I have found that carrot and beet juice has a lactogenic effect on some women, meaning it helps with milk production. The only precautionary note that I should mention is that because carrot juice is so rich in vitamin A, you don’t want to drink too much of it as you can overdose on the vitamin. But 1 to 2 glasses a day of fresh juice should be OK. I juiced 2 to 3 times a day but only used this recipe once and then juiced other items for the rest of my juice for the day. If you have any further questions on the subject then be sure to consult with a certified natural doctor.

As far as benefits, all people cab greatly benefit from juicing, unless of course there are medical reasons for limiting fresh juice. But a diet comprised of fruits vegetables and juicing is used all over the world as part of the Gerson Therapy for cancer patients and other people suffering from serious diseases.

  22. I have drinking the miracle drink for a week now. I think its working for various reasons, but i have gas like crazy..

  23. Thanks so much for your thorough research. I did a lot of research on this and the results were pretty much the same. I never smoke, exercise regularly, and eat a lot of fruits and vegetables esp. bananas. I don’t have sjogren’s or Vitamin A deficiency. My dry eye syndrome is mainly the result of a laser surgery I did 10 years ago.

Can you tell me what is Lycii-Rehmannia and can I get this at a health store?

    Thanks again.

    • Your welcome Susan.

Rehmannia is a perennial herb. You can purchase an extract at your local healthfood store. Here is one company I have known for years. Anytime I run out of my own extracts I make, I will purchase from this brand. Lycii is a berry. You can eat the fruit or buy capsules or an extract. Here is a Lycii supplement blend available on Amazon.

      Hope this helps.

  24. Hi LCO,

I have Hepatitis “B” virus chronic found before 2 years and when tried to take the quantity the trace is very very minimal and answer was less than reference level. Hence help me informing whether Miracle Juice will do good for my liver and can help to get rid of the remanining trace of Hep “B”. If you have any alternate options too kindly let me know. Like many i wish/pray to get this out of my blood.

    • Hello,
Thanks for stopping by. Honestly I know 2 herbs to work well for this purpose. I make an herbal medicine using them that is very effective and you can find similar remedies in your health food store. You can also drink them in tea form. The herbs are burdock and dandelion. But please make sure that you purchase organic herbs and not those treated with herbicides, pesticides or fungicides. Burdock is an antioxidant herb that is used as a blood cleanser because it helps clean the body from built-up toxins. Dandelion is one of my favorite herbs as it also cleanses the blood and liver and acts as a mild diuretic. I use dandelion in tea since I am still nursing, so that my milk will be clean for baby. If you need help finding these herbs in loose form and organic please let me know. I import them from all around the world and can send you details about purchasing via PayPal.

      • Many thanks LCO,

Very much feel comfort & courageous with your reply of using herbs Burdock & Dandelion. I’m interested to use this herbs to treat my Hep “B” as aware by reasons that Allopathy so far don’t have solution to cure Hep “B”. I always somwhere in my heart had a thought that Lord would have given some opportunity to cure this naturally and now immensely happy to see your answer.

Kindly guide me how to source these herbs using Pay Pal. I’ll be so grateful.

    • Hi there,

Thank you for your comment. I have not heard any bad things about this juice and fibriods. I have heard that it has worked wonderfully for women with Endometriosis. Please look at a comment under this same article where I go into detail about what other natural things can be done for Endometriosis.

Below is also a very helpful article courtesy of Love to Know Herbs:
Knowing how to eliminate fibroids naturally requires understanding what causes them in the first place. The major cause of fibroids is too much estrogen in the body, or estrogen dominance. Some of the causes of estrogen dominance are:

      Birth control pills
      Spermicides on condoms
      Hormone replacement therapy
      Ingredients in cosmetics
      Plastic cookware
Growth hormones in meat and milk
      Pesticides and herbicides
      PCBs – polychlorinated biphenyls
      Being overweight

      Diet Changes

It is important to stop eating heavily processed foods. White flour, white rice, sugar, and all simple carbohydrates cause an insulin spike in the blood. Insulin changes the way that the body handles estrogen. This in turn encourages the formation of fibroids as well as the growth of existing fibroids.Other dietary changes that should be made are:

Eliminate fried foods. They tax the liver and the liver is where estrogen is processed.
Stay away from all forms of caffeine, including tea and chocolate.
Eat lots of dark leafy greens, lentils, beans, and organically raised poultry.
Seaweed helps support the thyroid and adrenals, part of keeping hormone levels in check.
      Stay away from alcohol.
      Drink filtered water.
Although some doctors recommend soy as being helpful during menopause, soy contains toxins as well as phyto-estrogens (plant based estrogens). These substances increase the estrogen in the body and encourage fibroid growth.

If you are overweight, try to lose the extra pounds. Estrogen is metabolized in the fat cells and so overweight women have more estrogen than lean women. Also, cut any animal product from your diet that has added hormones. This includes any conventionally produced beef or dairy product. According to the FDA, organic meats and dairy products are not allowed to have added hormones.

There are several herbs that help to eliminate fibroids naturally including:

      Dong Quai
      Black Cohosh
      Chasteberry (Also called vitex)

Since the liver deactivates estrogen it is important to keep it functioning at optimal levels. Using a liver cleanse will help your liver clear out toxins and heal itself. Using herbs like milk thistle and dandelion will keep it working at full capacity.

Most herbs take some time to make an obvious difference in your health. Plan on taking them for about two to three months before the full benefit of these herbs is apparent.
      Lifestyle Changes

The body can absorb estrogens present in the environment. These environmental estrogens, or xeno-estrogens, are found in many things that people use on a daily basis. As these substances are used the estrogen is taken into the body and fibroid growth occurs. Some of the substances that can cause the growth of fibroid tissue are:

      Personal care products

As much as possible you should try to use organic and eco-friendly items. Doing this limits your exposure to environmental estrogens.

Stress depletes the body of important B vitamins and encourages hormonal imbalances. Learn to manage your stress and be sure to take a good vitamin B supplement.

  28. I have read about your miracle drink and would like to confirm the acne part, i have had acne since my teenage years and am 32 years old now. The acne is worse as it leaves scarce that cause pigmentation. Would this miracle drink be sufficient or would you recommend other vegetables or fruits that deals directly with this condition?

    • This juice is good but there are other ones that really help for keeping good skin. Just one thing though. If you are having a lot of skin issues it might be indicative of some internal problem with your digestion or something else. One of the herbs I have used and know to work is Dandelion. It can be taken as a tea daily for several months to help cleanse the blood and the liver and by doing so clear up skin issues. For a great article on juice for skin problems click here – https://lachicaorganica.wordpress.com/2011/07/02/drink-juice-for-skin-problems/

    • Hi there,

But as with all things please do check with your local health practitioner.

  29. Hi LCO…can u plz explain on hw to make ths miracle drink .And like 2 knw u have peel the veg and fruit…?

    • Hi there,

You need one Beetroot, one carrot and one apple that combine together to make the JUICE ! Make sure they are organic and do not peel just make sure you wash and scrum properly.

  30. Thanks for this wonderful article. Actually i am drinking this juice for the past two weeks now and i’ve really notice some changes in my body. I am hypothyroid and taking Eltroxin daily before breakfast. I want to ask if this combination juice is good for me and will not have any negative reaction on my thyroid.. i hope you will find time to answer my question the soonest.

thanks and more power to you…

  31. Hey,

I have a very bad and weak immune system, with possible M.S. Brain lesions, neurological symptoms, optic neuritis, eye floaters, weakness, joint pain, etc. Overall health is just bad. I just started juicing beets last week, and was amazed at what I read. Im lucky to live 10 minutes from a store that sells organic beets and carrots.

Question,is this enough? Only 1 Carrot,1 Beet, 1 Apple? I would think there would need to be more. Like tonight I juiced 7 carrots, and 1 beet. Resulted in a full small cup. My idea is,when I juice 1 of each of these, theres not going to be a lot,not even a full small cup even. Less potent?

    • Hi kevin,

Make sure you are using a good juicer. The pulp should be very dry. 2 carrots and 1/2 a large beet and one apple or 1/2 an apple should be enough. I used to drink at night and in the morning for added benefit.

There is a fantastic book called The Gerson Therapy, it might be helpful for you. If you search on my page under category to the right you will see a Gerson therapy category. There I have videos that are very informative.

  32. hi how do we know they are organic? I am from india , we buy from outside …I have started giving my 2 year old this juice of apple, carrot and pomegranate as he is aneamic…please help is it ok to gv him..?

    • Hello,

here is a list of places all over india that sell organic fruits and vegetables. http://aidindia.org/main/content/view/722/355/
Organic means that it has not been sprayed with pesticides or chemicals and the the dirt where the plant/tree grows is free from chemicals and pesticide residue. Often children that drink to much cows milk that suffer from anemia so be careful. This juice is a good choice. You can add in a piece of organic celery and 2 leaves of organic dandelion if you like. Dandelion helps clean the blood and has been taken in tea and used in smoothies and salads for centuries to promote good iron levels.

I hope your little one feels better.

  33. Thanks for the reply,I wll have to check that out. Yeah,I just upgraded and got a $200 masticating juicer which gets most out of the produce,so that will be good. Also thinking about doing a juice fast, there are some cleanse kits out there to go along with juice fast, but not sure if should take the one that has chlorella in it,because it is said to be dangerous if you have mercury poisoning, which I MAY,because of my symptoms that are identical to M.S. ,and such.

  34. Hello LCO! Thank you for the great post! I just tried that miracle drink for 2 days now (except I did not know that the fruits have to be organic). About half an hour to 1 hour later, I felt hungry for a while. Is that normal? And I am healthy right now!

    • Hi,

      • Hi, there! I just want to update my situation regarding the recipe. It has been almost a month now that I am using the recipe. I am no longer feel hungry but I do have a few concerns. My stool and pee (pls excuse me for this) are red. Another problem I have is that my skin starts to turn yellow. One of my friend has been doing this for much longer time, she is really yellow. Is this normal? I read somewhere that said it is due to the liver is overload with the betacaroteen?? Is this recipe safe for people who have narrow arteries and they are taking Aspirin? I also heard that it makes them tired??? Thank you for help!!!

      • Hello,

Here is some helpful information concerning the red in your stools and urine. http://www.rawfoodsupport.com/read.php?2,130704,130747
I never got yellow because I only did one cup of juice a day and I alternated with other juices containing greens and other fruits. As with any heath treatment be in conventional or natural, its important to do your own research and determine what is best for you. 🙂
I have not heard anything negative about this juice and narrow arteries. Juicing greens and this combination has actually been recommended by several doctors and nutrition centers. Diet is very important especially for those suffering from heart issues. Here is a great book on the topic. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1583332723/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=heartattackpr-20&linkCode=as2&camp=217145&creative=399369&creativeASIN=1583332723

        Hope this helps.

  35. My doctor recently told me that I have a slight allergy to carrots. Can u recommend a substitute for the carrots in the juice. I know the juice works the way it does because of its contents, I’m just hoping as I know the benefits from it!
    Many thanks

  36. Thank you for sharing so much infos with us. You’ve been really very helpful. I have read your answer regarding the juice good for diabetic people. It would have been great if miracle juice will also be beneficial for diabetes ailment, but I understand now that carrots and beet tend to be higher in sugar. Now I have been trying to search from google the juice recipe good for diabetes, but I seem not to get a precise one. Do you have any exact food recipe (ingredients, quantities, etc) for the fresh juice preparation (best for diabetic people)? It would be much appreciated. Thank you so much

  37. dear lachicaorganica,
    Wonderful articles n thorough research

You mention few times about diabetes 2, and you said Aloe Vera is good.
Can I take a Aloe Vera leaf and juice it daily. I grow my own Aloe Vera, thanks in Advance

    • Hi there,
Your very welcome. Everything I do here on this site is out of a great love for people who are suffering both physically and spiritually. My research and all that I know is because of Gods gracious love for me. And I am happy to share that with everyone. 🙂

Aloe Vera can be part of a weekly routine as long as you have no medical reason to avoid it, but I must caution you on two things:
1st – make sure that the plant you have is a female plant and use the gel only. The gel is obtained from the cells in the center of the leaf.
2end – make sure there were no pesticides or chemicals used on the earth below the plant and that the plant itself was treated with chemicals or bug spray.

Here is some information from the Aloe Vera Studies website:

      * It contains over 20 amino acids, 8 of which are critical for the human body, as our bodies cannot make them. Aloe contains all of these 8 important amino acids over and above 11 of the 14 ‘secondary’ amino acids.
      * This herb is also enriched with a host of vitamins including A, B1, B2, B6, B12, C and E. Vitamins too cannot be manufactured by the body and some cannot even be stored by the body.

Despite the fact that aloe vera contains so many essential ingredients, the manufacturing process of aloe-based products is a critical factor as this determines the overall efficacy of the product that you buy. For example, the gel of the aloe plant if exposed for a long time (around 4 hours) can get oxidized and lose its efficacy.

Personally at home I use a product from Aloe Life to eliminate contamination or oxidation in the process of handling the leaf. You can read about this product here –

      Hope this helps,

  38. I have been trying to search for a juice recipe good for diabetic people, but for some reasons, I couldn’t find an accurate one. To quote you in one of your comments here…”You may try a juice with wheat/barley grass, celery, cucumber cabbage and half of an apple, one sm carrot and 1/4 of a small beet to make it palatable at first then cut out the carrot and apple.” If it’s not too much to ask from you, can you give the exact quantity for each of the ingredients you have given to make up for a glass of juice best to drink by diabetic people, as well as how many times a day to drink, and should it be take daily also like that of the miracle juice?

May God bless you always for the ministry you are doing, that is, helping many people by sharing with us so much through this site. May your tribe increase 🙂

    • Hello,

Well it depends on the person and the type of diabetes. I like to tell people to research things and start to create their own mixes as best suited for their body. I cant you give exact quantities because I am not diabetic and I don’t want to tell you something that can harm you. In giving the options here I was simple looking at the sugar content in each and the benefit for diabetics. For specifics on what juice to use I would recommend you view this video below as it contains the entire diet for diabetics that reversed their diabetes.

Hope this helps you and you enjoy the video.

      Blessings to you and yours.

  39. May i know if i could not find the organic beetroot, will it be harmful if i will to drink non-organice beetroot juice ?

  40. thank you so much for sharing this!!

i read a lot of the comments but I didn’t quite find what I was looking for yet.

    my question(s) are:

I know it says “It is God sent for acne problem.” so does this mean it will help my acne a lot? I have really bad acne.

also, how exactly do I make it? for example, how many carrots/apples/beets should I juice and what should the serving size be approximately?

    thanks so much!

    • Hi there,

When i speak to people about health I often ask them how much water they are drinking and how many bowel movements they are having a day. Almost all of the people I have worked with have issues with their digestion and in turn have troubled skin and pimples. Of course this may not always be the case but its worth asking. If you have suffered with constipation in the past or currently then that could very well be part of your issue.

There is a great recipe for skin problem I listed under the recipes tab. I also think you might benefit from looking in taking Dandelion tea as its an amazing blood cleanser and detoxer for the liver. Friends of mine with acne and rosacea have seen great results while using dandelion tea, just make sure its organic.

If you want to make a small cup you can use 2 carrots, 1/2 of an apple and 1/2 of a beat. Or you can follow the recipe listed in the article.

      Hope this helps,
      God Bless

  41. Hi there,

For how many years/months should we drink this that it can give us the results or protect us from disease like Cancer. Also we get apples an d carrots only in the winter season so max we can have this drink for 4-5 Months, does this suffice.

Also is it necessary to drink it empty stomach.
I work in a night shift, so do I need to have this in the evening when I wake up?

    Thanks you

    • Hello,

My advice is that we should all consume a diet rich in plants and green foods on a daily basis for the rest of our life. Juices fall into this category too! Fresh vegetable and fruit juices are an excellent way to stay healthy and as long as there are no medical reasons to avoid them, one can take freshly juiced veggies and fruits for life!

Its a good idea to drink on an empty stomach.

      • I and my 7years old daughter have a glass of the juice(cucumber, carrot, beetroot, tomato, curry leaves and lemon) regularly on empty stomach. Can I add an apple also to this.

      • Hi there. You can, just make sure not to make it to sweet or you will flood your blood with too much sugar. Although natural, it can affect a child and make them hyper. 1/2 of an apple should be ok per serving.

  42. Ok,I appreciate this site. I have posted before on here. I have possible M.S.,optic neuritis. had a bad attack back in May which caused damage to my vision. So,I have been juicing daily. I now eat a mostly raw diet, and 95% of stuff I buy is organic. All the produce I buy is organic. I did a juice fast a month ago for 3days, and on Day 4,my eyes actually brightened, and double vision that was left from my attack in my peripheral vision was/is gone. So,daily I juice mostly vegetables. Carrots,Beets(I juice these once a day),celery, romaine lettuce, parsley, kale, and dandelion. I also do fruit juices every few days,or just random, especially pineapple. Now,apples…I am not able to find organic apples until just this week,so I have not been doing apples. They are just coming into season now here. So anyway,my question is…will I get just as much as this miracle drink,if I drop everything I am juicing now,and just do beets, carrots, apples twice a day? I dont know what to do. I have heard parsley is good for stuff like optic neuritis, and dandelion so. I need guidance..

    • Kevin,

      Thank You for your comment.
Juicing an eating a plant based diet is extremely important for your health, so don’t quit juicing a variety of greens n fruits. Regarding neuritis here is some info you may find helpful:
Inflammation can be minimized by the use of the St. John’s wort herb, which also acts in the upkeep of the nervous system, boosting its performance. Drink tea made from the herb daily, about 2 cups a session the alternate is to drink about 2-3 tbsp. of the juice, for a calming effect the lavender or skullcap herb can also be added to the tea or the juice. For external and topical treatments cold medicinal clay combined with the oil of the lemon balm, oil of lavender or oil of St.John’s wort can be used; the cream of the comfrey herb is also an excellent external rub. Antispasmodic properties and a sedative action are to be found in the vervain herb and compresses made out of this herb ca be used as a tropical treatment. The healing and soothing action of the Swedish bitters can be fully employed as a rub onto the affected part to relieve the pain. This herb may also be consumed daily a tsp. in half a cup of liquid or water, this aids in the detoxification of the body. For another external treatment option, pour 5-10 drops of oil of the hayseed plant or a hayseed tincture onto a moist cotton cloth, this can then be used as a wrap around the painful area for half an hour to relieve pain. The affected area can be rubbed or massaged for pain relief using the oil of the arnica herb, massage can also be carried out along the affected parts with the cream of the comfrey or equal mixtures of brandy along with cold-pressed olive oil.

Teas made from a variety of herbs such as the tea from black cohosh, tea made from the lobelia herb, the lady’s slipper, the root of valerian tea and skullcap herb tea can all be used in support therapy alongside regular treatment. Mixing in boiling water a tbsp. of the herbs and letting the herbs steep into the water for ten to fifteen minutes can make the herbal teas. This tea can then be drunk in using a combination of herbs or one herb alone in dosages of about 2-3 cups a day. Some herbs are more effective when taken before sleeping and this includes the valerian herb.

  43. Hi lachicaorginca,

How are you? I always see that your responses are so nice even after certain people ask you whether this juice is helpful or not. So my question for you is I just started drinking beet juice except I used a small beet, an apple and celery. I noticed this time that I been drinking it more often and I started to see the color changes in the bowel and in the urine, which I’m not afraid of because I did read what would happen if I were to drink this continuously. I been really trying to lose weight and I weight in I believe at 222 pounds, and I now weigh 215 so I am working out doing alot of cardio at least 45 minutes a day each morning for before work. So I guess my main question would be, if I juiced the beet, apple and carrot first thing in the morning can that be considered the meal I need for energy to start my work out? Or do I have to drink it on an empty stomach then wait and eat some small amount of oatmeal? I been trying so hard and so far as you see I have only lost about 1-2 pounds each week. Any helpful suggestions?

    • Gilbert,
Thank You for your comment. I love helping people and am always glad, when time permits to answer each question with love and dedication.
If you are working out then I would recommend that you juice after your workout, especially if you are working muscles and doing cardio. Juicing after a workout is great to alkalize the body. When you workout you are putting stress on the body and lose minerals and nutrients. By drinking juice after a workout you are aiding the body in recovery. As a before meal you could make a large smoothie using raw protein blends like the one available by Garden of Life. I would also alternate juices and incorporate greens in to your juices several times a week. Greens are especially good because of their Chlorophyl content and detoxing abilities. Regarding weight loss its very important to look at your digestive health. If you are lacking good bacteria and not having a least one bowel movement a day, it will be harder for you to loose weight.
If you need any other help I offer health and wellness email and phone consults. You can read about them here: https://lachicaorganica.wordpress.com/about/contact-us/

  44. Hi,

My mom has recently had some kidney problem, where she has been passing protein. She is been treated for MGN (kidney issue). Presently she is on steroids & her sugar is also fluctuating because of the steroids. Would the juice help her? Also getting organic vegetables & fruits are not possible where she lives. Please advice.

    • Rachel,
I am sorry to hear about your mom. I hope she feels better soon. Adding greens, vegetables and fruits to a persons diet as a daily routine is a great way to improve overall health, unless her doctor or nutritionist says otherwise.
If she cannot get organic fruits at her grocery store she may want to look into farmers markets in her area by doing a search here: http://www.localharvest.org/

  45. Hey,

Do you think beetroot juice can cause iron overload in men? I talked to a lady from a juicing website who said so. I have been juicing like one or 1/2 a beet a day for month, maybe a few times twice in a day,and juicing it with veggies. Also eating a few items a day that have 2-4% iron. like brown rice, figs, dried apricots, seeds etc..last couple weeks ive been having nerve or almost adrenal/thryoid type like symptoms – coldness in body, sensations of heat/cold,very sensitive to touch (especially legs, feet),pretty crazy stuff. I even had one naturopath tell me iron deficiency was possible. I feel it is some sort of detox ,healing crisis,or nerve regeneration.. thanks

    • Hello Kevin

Any excess of foods and or supplements can cause an issue, they key is balance. If you are concerned with Iron overload then reduce the amount of times you consume this juice per week.
Anytime a person ventures into a detox its Extremely important that you have a full medical evaluation to determine your overall state of health. People that are overly toxic can actually do more harm when detoxing without proper supervision. An overload of toxins can flood the liver causing harm. So a well planned and supervised cleansing and detox is essential so that you are able to release the toxins at the rate that is needed without over burdening your organs.
There are a few books on the topic of cleansing and using foods for sickness and disease. One of my favorites is Charlotte Gersons Book – Healing the Gerson Way: Defeating Cancer and Other Chronic Diseases.

      Hope this helps.

  46. Hi, i have also tried getting organic product this side but no one is supplying organic beetroot, apple and carrots. Can i use the normal ones?

  47. Hi lachicaorginca,
My Mom has diabetes and IBS with chronic diarrhea. She’s afraid of eating or drinking anything cold since she’s feeling cold all the time due to lack of nutrition absorbed into body I think. Can she still start to drink this juice with empty stomach in the morning?

    • Hello there,
I am sorry to hear about your mom. These are 3 issues that need careful attention and proper diagnosis. Before trying any juice or treatment I would recommend that she be tested for Celiac Disease and Parasites. IBS and chronic diarrhea are often mis-diagnosed when in reality the patient has Celiac Disease or parasites. Its very important also that she get checked for bacterial infections, parasites and h-pylori bacteria. You can read more about this in a short article I wrote below:
For information on Celiac Disease see one of my other sites below:

Once you rule out the possibilities then you will have a better idea of what is triggering her IBS and diarrhea. These things just don’t happen by chance. Something is prompting it and until you get to the bottom of it, she will continue suffering and she will not be able to properly absorb nutrients found the foods she is eating.
Feel free to post back once you have more info and if I can offer any additional help through any of the services I offer, let me know.

  48. I have used beet juice for cleansing the blood stream for almost 10 years now. As long as you stick to the recommended dosage I have not had any problems with side effects. I use RediBeets which is produced by a company in Idaho. It’s concentrated beet juice and the powder makes dosing easier to be sure you’re only getting what you intend to intake.

  49. Very informative on juicing beets. can you tell me if their is any health benifit to also juicing the beet root leafy top?

    • Justin, I have 3 kids and have given them all vegetable, greens and fruit juices & smoothies since very young. As long as your pediatrician does not see any reason to avoid, it should be fine.

  50. Just wondering is there any benefit to also juice the beet root leaves along with the other ingredients? Also I have been doing a daily combo juice of kale-cilantro-parsley-ginger root-lemon-carrots-celery-and of course beet(and a pinch of cayanne pepper). Do you think this is too much?

    • Rick, interesting blend. If you can handle it that’s great. Some people cant take the cayenne pepper. I make my own concentrated extract of cayenne and drink it in orange juice and then watch the fire come out of my ears, lol.
Just be sure to alternate and use more than one type of greens. So use kale then spinach, sprouts, Chlorella, spirulina, wheatgrass etc…
Juices are an amazing way to detox and get healthier. If t you have not seen the movie – Fat sick and nearly dead I recommend you watch it, its fantastic. http://www.fatsickandnearlydead.com/

  51. Sorry didn”t see the previous answer to my posting on the beet leafy tops. Thanks for the quick response. I will not juice the tops again. How about the mega juice concoction I mentioned that I and my wife have been drinking?

  52. This question may have already been answered, however, I would like to know what do you do with the left over pulp?

    • Dear Lisa,

In my research and in my own family I have seen that Eczema, like most ailments is a symptom of a bigger problem. In a lot of cases the bigger problem may be poor digestion, constipation, fungal infection, exposure to black mold and other things. It’s very important that you get to the root cause of the problem instead of masking a symptom.
Its also very important that your daughter consume a diet made up of whole foods, fruit and vegetable juices, green smoothies and super food supplements. When I teach classes locally, I cover these topics and work with people on a one on one basis proving them education that will help them make better choices concerning their health. This juice is a great starter juice but greens and other vegetables can be used several times a day along with smoothies to cleanse the body. As long as your doctor does not have any reason for your daughter to avoid juices, then she should be fine. There are 2 books that are fantastic at explaining how one should go about this process. Henry Bieler’s book, Food Is Your Best Medicine, and from Sidney Baker’s book, Detoxification and Healing

If I can offer you any help in the future please let me know by contacting me here. From time to time I do classes via phone and email consultations for people that live in different countries or do not live near to me in the USA.

      Many Blessings

      • Hi ,

I came accidentally to your site while finding the benefits of carrot and beetroot juice. I am having sensory neural hearing loss from last 15 years which is increasing day by day . Now the loss has reached to 90% . Use of hearing aids have further damaged the hearing ability . I am 32 years old now . I want to know is there any juice or herb which can cure or atleast improve my hearing loss.

  53. Hello La Chica Organica,

May I know what’s the taste and smell of the juice?and if it is good to combine the carrot, beet root , apple and milk?…and can you recommend some fruits to combine these three fruits except lime or lemon?…Thank you..God bless you…

    • Hello there,
No do not mix with milk. If you did carrot juice alone you could mix with almond milk or rice milk but this juice should be blended as is. If you add more fruits it will make it sweeter and flood your bloodstream with too much sugar. So I don’t recommend adding to many fruits. You could add in a piece of cabbage and a few frozen strawberries though.

  54. Hi

I’m wondering if you could make a large batch of this juice, and then freeze it in daily servings to save time ?

    • Lindsay,
Its best to make the juice fresh each day. You can make enough juice for the day and put a few drops of organic lemon juice in it so it does not oxadase as quickly.

Or at least prevent breakouts whenever the virus were active? Please help. Thanks.

    I am from Southeast Asia.

    • Sheila,
Thank You for your question. Since herpes is a virus you can look into herbs that contain anti-viral properties. From my research I know that Astragalus root has been used in Asia for Herpes along with Echinacea root and Siberian Ginsing. At home we make tea and herbal medicine with these herbs but they are also found in pill form.
By paying attention to what we eat we can help to minimize the chance of a herpes recurrence. Here are some expert tips by Dr John Spurge, N.D to help keep herpes symptoms away and to put you in control:
      TIP #.1
Avoid supplements or foods that contain excessive Arginine

One theory is that foods which contain high amounts of the amino acid Arginine can provoke or bring on a herpes episode for some people. This is related to the fact that the herpes virus requires this amino acid to grow, replicate and to become active. This is why limiting foods which are very high in Arginine can be helpful for those who are trying to reduce herpes breakouts.

Foods which are high in Arginine and can commonly trigger an outbreak are:

      Nuts, including peanut butter
Protein shakes and drinks that contain Arginine
      Oats, including porridge
Muscle building formulas and multivitamins that contain Arginine

Reducing some of these foods can be helpful but it is important not to make this the main focus of your diet.

The human body naturally produces Arginine so it can never be eliminated completely. Simply being mindful of foods that are excessively high in this amino acid, and not taking it in supplement form, is sufficient when trying to reduce herpes symptoms.

      Tip #.2
Balance Arginine rich foods with Lysine

Lysine helps to stop the virus which causes herpes. If you get ample amounts of this amino acid in your diet it can help to reduce the frequency of the symptoms and make healing faster. This is why it is recommended to eat foods that are high in Lysine, or take a Lysine supplement. See the Supplements section for advice on what to look for in a Lysine supplement.

Foods that contain high amounts of Lysine are:

Most vegetables and fruits particularly beets, avocados, mangos, tomatoes, apples,
      apricots, pears, figs and papaya
Dairy products such as milk, yogurt and cheeses
      Brewer’s yeast
      Fish, particularly sardines and cod
      Chicken, beef and lamb

      Tip #.3
Eat foods which are good for your skin

Lysine is beneficial but it is not the only nutrient that the body requires to ward off herpes. The skin should also be nourished with essential nutrients that are needed to resist an infection, as well as to regenerate and repair itself.

Make sure that you are getting plenty of zinc, vitamin C and bioflavonoids in your diet to help protect, nourish and strengthen your skin. This will help your skin to heal more quickly during breakouts, and will also help make your body more resistant to the symptoms surfacing in the first place.

Foods that contain high amounts of Vitamin C:

Fresh fruits (especially citrus, such as oranges)
Leafy vegetables, such as lettuce, bok choy and spinach
      Brussel sprouts
      Bell peppers
      Papaya (papaw)

Foods that contain high amounts of Bioflavonoids:

Most citrus fruits, including oranges, grapefruits, lemons, limes, mandarins and others. Many bright colored fruits and vegetables, including cherries, cranberries, grapes, peppers, apricots and prunes
Leafy vegetables, such as lettuce and spinach
Black tea (such as Earl Gray, etc)
Broccoli, brussel sprouts and eggplant (aubergine or egg fruit)
Wine and juice made from berries or grapes
      Some varieties of red clover

Foods that contain high amounts of Zinc:

      Pumpkin seeds
      Most dairy products
      Beans and lentils
      Wholegrain cereals

      Tip #.4
Avoid or reduce these foods to help prevent outbreaks

      – Artificial sweeteners

Anecdotal evidence suggests that artificial sweeteners can trigger a herpes outbreak for some people. They are commonly found in food and drinks that are “diet” or “sugar free” including diet sodas, many toothpastes and sugar substitutes. Check the label to see if it contains the word ‘sweetener’ followed by a reference number, or any one of these ingredient names:

      – Saccharin (Sweet’N Low)
      – Aspartame (Equal, NutraSweet)
      – Sucralose (Splenda, Altern), or
      – Sorbitol

      – Protein shakes or muscle building formulas that contain the amino acid Arginine

      – White bread – replace with wholemeal, rye or brown bread where possible

      – Cut back on coffee, caffeine and soda, especially if you feel you have too much of these in your diet

      – If you are going to drink alcohol or take recreational drugs…

try to do so in moderation. If you have a late night or do not get adequate sleep, try taking Panax or Korean Ginseng (before, during and after) to help reduce the negative impact it can have on your body. This in turn can help reduce the chance of a breakout.

      White and refined sugars

      – Be mindful of excess sweets in your diet and opt for a natural sweetener instead of sugar where possible, such as agave syrup or stevia

Eat chocolate, nuts and oats in moderation, not every day or to excess

      Tip #.5
Eat lots of broccoli and other “cruciferous” vegetables

Vegetables belonging to the cruciferous family (including brussel sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli and kale) may help to stop herpes in its tracks, this is due to a naturally high amount of a compound called indole-3-carbinol (I3C).

Clinical studies show that this compound has the potential to interfere with the way the Herpes simplex virus (HSV) reproduces. The preliminary trial results are very promising, so eat up on these nutritious vegetables whenever you can.

      Tip #.6
      Ditch processed and junk food

The occasional treat is no problem, but where possible try to avoid deep fried foods, sugary treats, white bread, junk foods and any processed or packet foods. Foods with artificial colorings, flavorings and preservatives fit into this category too.

Try to reduce the amount of saturated animal fat consumed (which is found in all animal products, and especially fatty cuts of meat) and particularly avoid trans-fatty acids. Trans-fatty acids are commonly found in:

      Fast food restaurant food
Packet or snack foods, such as crisps
      Frozen dinners

Some simple adjustments to your kitchen cupboard can help you live a healthier life and therefore help to prevent herpes outbreaks:

Use real butter in place of margarine
Use a quality, high smoking point oil when you cook your meals such as olive, coconut, rice bran or grapeseed oil
Use raw sugar or a natural sweetener, instead of white sugar or artificial sweeteners

      Tip #.7
Increase the amount of fresh “raw” foods in your diet

This could be the single most important diet tip of this entire guide because what you eat and therefore how your body functions all begins from here. There are a number of reasons why we might neglect to eat raw fruits and vegetables, including convenience, family tradition and how we are raised. The truth is, eating fresh raw foods everyday should not be a “diet”, it should be a way of life. It will help you to maintain a healthy weight, have more energy and vitality, more youthful skin and… less outbreaks.

Some simple suggestions to get started:

Include fresh, raw fruits and vegetables as a side to your breakfast, lunch or dinner
When you have a snack try munching on vegetable sticks made of celery, beets or carrot, with a nice dip such as hummus to go with it
Make a salad for lunch that has as many raw vegetables as you can find, including fresh greens and sprouts, and top with your choice of oil such as coconut, olive, grapeseed, flaxseed, etc. Finish with a decent pinch of salt and a very small splash of apple cider vinegar
Drink a freshly made fruit or vegetable juice each day (within minutes of making it) from whatever is in season in your area. Some nice mixes are:
      – Apples, carrots and celery
      – Apples, pineapples, mint and lime
      – Tomatoes, beets, carrots, salt and pepper
      – Berries, apples and watermelon
      – Whatever yummy fruits you have access to, be creative
      – Add a dash of fresh ginger or bee pollen to your fruit juices, if you desire

      Tip #.8
Eat foods which help you to de-stress and relax

Stress has a profoundly negative effect on the body and may contribute to the length and frequency of herpes breakouts. Try to avoid or reduce the stress in your life however you can.

You can improve your diet to assist your body in weathering the stress by eating a diet rich in B vitamins and magnesium. Vitamin B5 has long been considered the “anti-stress” vitamin, and when taken along with vitamin B6 and magnesium your body has a better chance to recover from stressful situations.

If taken in a supplement form, B vitamins should always be taken together in a “complex” to prevent causing an imbalance because some B vitamins are codependent on one another. The Vitamin B complex is comprised of the following; B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin), B6 (pyridoxine), B9 (folic acid) and B12 ( cobalamin). The B group of vitamins are also important for a healthy nervous system and for the body’s production of serotonin, a hormone released in our brain which helps us to feel happy, relaxed and at ease.

Foods that contain high amounts of B group vitamins:

      Wholegrain foods and brown rice
      Green leafy vegetables
      Brewer’s Yeast
      Soy Products
      Tuna & Salmon
      Other Meats and eggs
      Dairy Products

      Tip #.9
Indulge in antioxidant-rich foods, such as berries and prunes

There are lots of foods that nature has given us that possess the potential to ward off diseases and infections including herpes, and some of the most powerful of these are called ‘antioxidants’.

An antioxidant is something that helps to neutralize and stop the damage caused by free radicals. Free radicals are caused by many things, including chemicals and toxins in our food and environment, and they are responsible for aging, tissue damage and deterioration of the body.

These foods are on top of the antioxidant rich list:

      Apricots, prunes and dates
      Broccoli, brussel sprouts and artichokes
      Kale and spinach
Chilli, peppers, red cabbage and beets
      Red grapes
      Tea (especially green tea)

Other highly beneficial superfoods for herpes are:

      Reishi mushrooms
      Coconuts, particularly coconut oil
      Barley grass
      Shitaki mushrooms
      Goji berries

These are just a few. Look for other foods that are antiviral, contain anti-oxidants or have immune
      enhancing benefits.

      Tip #.10
      Drink purified, alkaline water

Not only is the amount of water you drink important, but the quality of your water can make a difference too. Some chemicals such as chlorine are necessary to filter germs from our water, but this chemical is also extremely toxic to our health and ideally should be removed from the water before drinking.

Carbon filters are availble which filter chlorine from your water and can be fitted either to the house or just to a particular tap or fosset. A reverse-osmosis filter is another type of filter which will remove all heavy metals and chemicals from your water. However, this process removes a lot of the beneficial minerals too, so it is important to find a filter that also replaces these minerals, such as through the use of a coral or mineral cartridge.

Very importantly, it is preferable to drink water that is alkaline. By alkalizing the body you help your entire system fight off “free radicals” which can cause deterioration of the cells. Many scientists claim miraculous benefits for a wide range of health conditions through the regular consumption of alkalizing water.

If you don’t have access to alkaline or filtered water, try having a glass of water with freshly squeeze lemon or lime juice each morning and night. This is highly alkalizing and will help provide you with a good start.

I pray your condition gets better.
      God Bless You

  57. Hello LCO,
I am currently on medication for Hypothyrodicism & High blood pressure.
I do brisk walking every other day of the week, covering a distance of 6 km up & down mainly to achieve weight loss & sound physical condition. I am also practising the water therapy whereby around 1 ltr of water is consumed empty stomach in the morning & the bed tea taken only after one hour. This is working very well with my bowel movements & I do not wish to replace it with the miracle drink.
Is it ok if I start using the drink after the intake of water in the morning?
i would appreciate your advise. thanks.

  58. Hi LCO,
I got an info from this miracle juice and try to do some research and got the same info as yours.. and followed this trend… Just wondering since you mention that this is ok to drink for breast feeding moms…but not to much on Vit.A… is there any bad effect on my baby if I eat too much on carrots or other veggies and fruits rich in Vit.A. I used to eat carrots everyday… is there any side effect on my baby if I will eat carrots and the same time drink this miracle juice?

    Thanks and God bless…

    • Hello,

As with all things moderation is key. Its not good to overdose on anything even natural juices. I enjoyed this juice on and off for years with and after carrying my children. An occasional dinner with carrots while drinking this juice should be OK but do run it par your health practitioner of you have any concerns. Vitamin A passes through breast milk, but it is not clear if it is dangerous to the child for the mother to take too much vitamin A, although it is certainly dangerous for the mother.

If you are taking a good prenatal vitamin and drinking a mixed juice with carrots several times a week you should not be in danger of overdosing but as I mention below always check with your practitioner as the individual needs of each person varies based on their vitamin deficiencies and needs.

  59. Hi LCO

God Bless you for your efforts. Am HIV+. which combination of the juices will help me maintain a good health

    • Rebecca,

God bless you. Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Its very important that you eat a well balanced diet making sure to eat a daily amount of greens, vegetables and fruits and avoid all processed, canned and boxed foods.

As far as herbs are concerned, my research has shown me that both astragalus and olive leaf have been used to maintain a strong immune system. At home we use astragalus anytime a virus is present and to boost our immune system. Here is an article about astragalus and HIV Aids: http://www.naturalnews.com/024799.html

  60. Good day LCO

Firstly may God continue to bless you and your family and keep you on the path of giving, as the rewards will be as fulfilling as your desire to help. Thank you for sharing this informative site. .. I am about to begin the journey to improve my health with this drink. I have fibroids, low vitamin d and hyper-thyroid and am nursing (all i believe are kinda linked). My question…Many sites have indicated that carrot contains Phytoestrogen and may contribute to more estrogen and therefore be a factor that may increase fibroids i.e. following website. Do you agree/disagree and if so can you suggest any alternative ingredient as I am still interested in consuming a similar drink

    Thank you in advance

    • Destinee,

Thank you for your sweet comments. May God hear you and continue to grant me the energy and ability to continue helping those in need.

From my research I have learned that diet is very important for women with fibroids. However, you may not know that vitamin D levels are crucial for proper thyroid function and formation of fibroids. A lack of Vitamin D has been linked with the production of fibroids. In relating the thyroid function and vitamin d, Richard Shames, MD said: “This particular vitamin is so crucial to thyroid function that its status has now been elevated by researchers to co-hormone. We now know that the variability of thyroid to work or not work in your body is dependent upon the presence of Vitamin D, making it not just of benefit, but absolutely essential.”

So, its very important that you raise your d levels. I would converse about this with your doctor for approval. I wrote an article on Vitamin D and which one is best to take. You can read it below:
At home we take (during flu season) about 5000 to 10000 units of D3 a day when levels are low. This is what we use along with vitamin c and others herbs to steer clear away from the flu.

In relating to the juice, yes carrots contain phytoestrogens but they also inhibit tumor growth. So I am tossed a bit back by these two facts. I lean towards the belief that if one consumes carrots in juice a few times a week it should be OK. But I am no medical professional. However if I were dealing with my own health issue I would definitely try the carrot juice and increase d levels ASAP.
Here is a GREAT article on the topic on consuming carrots to assist with fibroid growth. http://www.fibroids1.com/news/mainstory.cfm/183

      Hope this helps!

Lots of blessings to you and yours. Oh, and be sure to check out the section I have on this site entitled family health. I have lots of good info for nursing mommies.

  69. One cup of raw beets contains phosphorous, magnesium, calcium, iron, and potassium as well as vitamin A, niacin, folic acid, and biotin. There are essential live enzymes, along with the natural form of betaine, which aids in cleansing the liver and reducing homocysteine levels.

And when these nutrients are captured in a cold juicing process, the body can quickly absorb them and utilize their benefits. The beet juice product we’ve used since the mid-90s is called RediBeets. I saw someone else here mentioned it. It saves the trouble and mess of juicing beets, as a concentrated beet juice powder with only the fiber removed. You should give it a try.

Thru Monday, January 23rd our vendor is having a special: Buy one bottle of AIM RediBeets, get half off the second bottle. Must use coupon code: FB012012 and redeem @ http://www.chrisbyrnes.com/redibeets

  70. So i started juicing everyday about a week ago. What i use is…5 or 6 carrots (depending on size), 1 half cucumber, 2 apples (small) 4 celery sticks, a half a beet and the last 3 days ginger root. I have noticed a few things….1 i havent had acne in a long time and now i see little ones comming out. …….2, a couple nights ago i woke up in the middle of the night not feeling so good, like i felt a slight flu comming on but all the next day felt fine untill the following night when i woke up in the middle of the night just shivering out of control for at least an hour. the next day i felt fairly normal. now i just read something about not to eat or have beets everyday because your body could begin to have an allergic reaction and if i continue to drink this juice everyday my body begins to create a imbalance. Could this be the cause of what happend in the middle of the night?

  71. What a wonderful thread and you are so very helpful! I love all your advice. I have chronic pancreatitis and just had an attack a couple of days ago and still having some pain. Haven’t been able to eat much in the last four to five months other than brown rice, sweet potatoes, peas. I believe I can heal my pancreas and want to do some juicing and this looks perfect. Do you know of any specific herbs that would also be beneficial or have you treated chronic pancreatitis? Also do you recommend a diet of just juicing? I was thinking it would be good to let the pancreas rest as much as possible. Thank you. You are a God send! God Bless!

  72. give me advice what should i take after chemotherapy..satge 4 breast cancer.

  73. One glass of juice means, how many millileter?
I started taking this juice. However, my urine turns red. Should i stop this juice or not?
    Please help me.

  74. Hello,
I drink the juice everyday for about 3 months. But I am not sure about the beetroot, for my country, Cambodia, the beetroot is colored white, so how is different from the red beetroot? One more, is it useful for hepatitis B?

    • Hello there. I have never used white beets fro juicing but I hear they are not as sweet but also have a cleaner taste. You can also try substituting with a potato. I give an explanation about this in one of the comments below.

I have a fibroid tumor in my uterus and it causes hemmorraging every month when I have my period. This excessive bleeding has made me very anemic. Three different doctors (the emergency room doc, my Gp, and my gyno) have all told me that I needed a blood transfusion or risk dying. I told them that I will not have anyone else’s blood in me and wanted to try to raise my iron and hemoglobin myself. They told me I was being foolish and that it would take 3 monthes or so to raise my levels using their prescription iron pills. The pills they gave me were inorganic and had many side effects, and I did not take one of them. Instead I got some natural iron pills from whole foods and started to eat only iron rich foods and drinking nourishing herbal teas. My hemoglobin was 7.2 (11-15 is normal), after two weeks my hemoglobin went up to 7.4 which was way too slow. I heard about the apples beets and carrots juice as being a sort of “blood transfusion” so I started drinking this along with taking my iron supplements and eating iron rich food and herbal tea and within another 2 weeks AND after having a very heavy period, my hemoglobin was 8.7. In a few more weeks it should be normal. Never underestimate the power of fruits and vegtables and mother earth’s ability to heal us. She has everything we need, NOT chemo or other manmade trash.

*I should say though that I drank the juice a little different than the article, I used the abc 123 method, which is one part apple, 2 parts beet, and 3 parts carrot juice.

    cheers 🙂

  76. Is it alright to drink it chilled and prepare it the night before? Or should be taken fresh straight away in the morning? Thanks!

  77. I am 66 years of age very active in my (Indian Restaurant) business, i am 5’8″ tall and weigh 178 lbs. This over weight resulted from eating late and lack of excesize as well. I am very concious of being over weight,
    A. the extra weight on the belly do not look good,
B.my clothes do not fit the way they use to.
    C. I have been trying the cabbage soup(cabbage, Onions, Celery) on and off with some result and, when I stop the weight comes right back on. Long story short,
a friend of mine sent me this miracle drink recipe via e-mail. I have tried it, It is delicious and refreshing, but the produce we get in the bahamas is not organic? I know you mentioned that Beets, Carrots, Apple should be organic. Lack of organic Vegetables and fruit , how much of a set back will that be, health wise, to continue taking this miracle juice.
I want to loose abou 15 lbs weight, also reduce slight trace of blood pressure, and will add exercise to the program.
As mentioned by many users it is good for blood pressure? Your thoughts please

    • Organic is best because you are not eating fruits treated with pesticides. But in the absence of organic, then use what you have available, just be sure to soak your fruits and veggies in a little lime and water and scrub well.

  79. Hi, thanks for this wonderful website. I tried to read through the answers to see if my question was already answered, but there is just too much to read!

My dear friend’s mother has had a hard time, to put it mildly. She had kidney problems, was put on all kinds of drugs to help it, but then we think the drugs have caused her to have stomach cancer, which we are told has spread a little to her liver.
She had a bleeding ulcer, and had radiation treatment for 10 days.
She is an incredibly strong woman, despite all she’s been through.

My question is…you said that this miracle drink causes weight loss.
For someone like my friend’s mother, who is already too underweight, would drinking this juice cause more weight loss?

    Many thanks,

    • Bill,

First off I am very sorry to hear about your friends mom. I will pray for her and for your friend, that Gods hand would carry her through this rough time. Its not easy be so sick, I cant imagine the hardship. But as with all things in life I believe we live through these things for a reason and I know there is a great bright light at the end of the tunnel once the suffering has passed.

I would recommend that you check with a natural doctor first before doing any juicing as certain fruits and veggies act as detoxers. And if she did standard cancer treatment and starts drinking detoxing juices, the toxins released could flood her liver and cause more damage. So you must do several other things in addition to juicing to ensure that the body can release the toxins without causing further damage.

I recommend you read through my cancer sections listed below, for amazing treatment info, recommended books and oncologists that treat cancer naturally.

I hope this information helps your friends mom.

      Many Blessings

  82. Hello LCO,

Please kindly enlighten me on my 3 queries below:

    1. Is it safe, short term and long term, to take this miracle drink of carrot, apple
and beetroot juices EVERY morning, EVERY day?

    2. For optimal health benefit, how frequent do you recommend taking this miracle

    3. Is it true that it will gradually lose its health benefit efficacy if consumed regularly
over a long period of time?

  85. I am not a doctor but I have been juicing for about 25 years now. The benefits of carrot, beet and apple juice are confirmed from my own experiences with raw vegetable juice. It certainly is a “Miracle” working combo. Juicing raw vegetables, especially Carrot Apple and Red Beet combo can strengthen your immune system as well as lead to a marked increase endurance and athletic performance.
