More and more I seem to be meeting people who have some or all of the symptoms mentioned above. Some are taking anti-depressants, while others have been hospitalized and taking many meds for a problem that is going on undiagnosed.
Don’t believe me, then watch this video. It’s about a patient who was diagnosed with a brain tumor after being rendered completely unable to function. You will be shocked.
So what are we talking about here?
Parasites. These nasty critters can lurk in the dark corners of your body and wreak havoc.
What worries me is that people think that they have to travel to a developing nation to get parasites, but the truth is very far from that. Parasites can be transmitted through improperly cooked food, kissing, unwashed hands with fecal matter that touch food, contaminated water and several other ways. Then there are parasites like H. pylori that are pathogenic to humans and have been known to infect up to 50% of the human population.
And in the case of ulcers, did you know that studies show parasites can be responsible for over 80% of all ulcers that lead to cancer? The culprit? A spiral-shaped bacteria called Heliocobacter pylori (H. pylori). This parasite is no joke. More recent studies have revealed that 90 to 100 percent of patients with duodenal (the first section of the small intestine) ulcers and 70% of those with gastric (stomach) ulcers are all infected with H. pylori. And H. Pylori parasites are able to thrive in very acidic environments so if your more acidic than alkaline then you’re a playground for these parasite to live and play.
How is this possible? Well, the way this parasite works is quite fascinating to me. It kind of acts like the enemy of our souls. Making us numb to the things and people around us and then attacking us by penetrating to the core of our being. H. pylori produces an enzyme called urease that neutralizes stomach acid and allows it to thrive, even penetrating and damaging the protective barrier of the stomach lining. There it begins to weave its web and once there all kinds of health complications can occur.
But there is hope. Testing for this parasite and others can be done in your routine check up; you just need to ask your doctor, because parasite checks are usually not offered as part of a well visit, which in my opinion is very bad. This however was not the case when we lived abroad. All our well visits included a little container for poop, urine and a saliva swab.
So ask your doctor if you suspect you may have H. pylori or any of the parasites and or symptoms mentioned below.
Pinworms – may cause severe anal itching, insomnia and restlessness. These worms tend to migrate out through the anus at night to lay eggs.
Hookworms – may cause the soles of the feet to itch. Bloody spit from the mouth, fever, rash and loss of appetite are also possible.
Threadworms – may cause coughing, abdominal pain, diarrhea, gas and itchy red abrasions on the anus.
Tapeworms may cause weight loss, abdominal pain, vomiting and diarrhea.
Ascarids – may cause bloating, stomach pain, vomiting and shortness of breath.
Microscopic Roundworms – may cause trichinosis leading to muscle damage and complications of the cardio and neuro systems.

Easy Free Way to Test your Family for Food Intolerances

Wouldn’t it be great to have a little machine you could scan your foods with and it would tell you if they are beneficial for your body.
Well although such scanners do exist they can be a bit costly to own and or to have done at a doctors office.
But you can test intolerances in the comfort of your own home and its a lot of fun to do. In the natural health world this kind of testing is known as muscle testing, energy testing and or kinesiology. When our bodies suffer from food intolerances our bodies electrical system is weakened and this is measured by our muscles response to a specific food. This type of testing can be used to identify allergies, physical weaknesses, sensitivities, nutritional deficiencies, and to assess which herbs, supplements or other treatments are indicated as remedies.
I have done this test on almost everyone in our family and some of our friends and it’s incredibly accurate. I have tested my own herbal medicine against ones purchased at a health food store only to find out the one I purchased was actually weakening our bodies where as my stuff rocked!! Yeah, I was jumping up and down at the results. It was quite the Kodak moment.
One day I got into a testing frenzy where I grabbed a bag of deadly ramen noodle soup a friend had left at our home. We all tested and it gave the anticipated results that of course it weakened our muscle response. You can test anything just nothing in tin or metal cans.
The easiest testing I find is done by holding your left hand fingers open, with the palm facing upwards, see picture above.
Connect the left thumb and pinky fingers by putting one nail under the other. A circle should be created by doing this.
If you are acting as the testing practitioner you take a baseline test by putting your 2 index fingers under the pads of the pinky/thumb connection, gently trying to separate them.
The person being tested must keep a tight hold and resist the pull, but it not meant to be a strength assessment so relax.
Once you have your baseline result have the person being tested hold the food in question in the other hand as you test again as mentioned above.
The awesome part about this is that the connection will be strengthened or weakened. If the fingers easily resist your pull then it means that the food being tested strengthens the body’s electrical field, if the fingers do not resist the pull then the food should be eliminated immediately from the diet as it is weakening the body. I know it’s so cool and it’s always given me a correct reading even baked up by medical testing.

Cayenne is one of those herbs that I try to never leave home without. I carry a very potent extract in my purse that packs a mild 30,000 scoville heat units. This miracle herb is useful to promote circulation, stop an asthma attack, alleviate a sore throat, aid digestion, regulate blood pressure and stop internal and external bleeding. But the most amazing thing about cayenne is that just a small amount has been known to stop a heart attack in under a minute. For a recent article I wrote on this click here.
For more details on the great uses and properties of cayenne pepper continue reading below. You can pick up organic cayenne powder or cayenne extract at your local health-food store. We take the organic cayenne extract I make in 1 ounce of juice or water and then we jump up and down, cry and its all over. All of our kids enjoy cayenne shots several times a week and they compete to see who drinks it down without cringing. So I dare you to dive into the cayenne if you can handle the heat.
Key Health Benefits of Cayenne Peppers
• This herb is a great food for the circulatory system in that it feeds the necessary elements into the cell structure of the arteries, veins and capillaries so that these regain the elasticity of youth again, and the blood pressure adjusts itself to normal. It rebuilds the tissue in the stomach and heals the stomach and intestinal ulcers; in equalizing the blood circulation, Cayenne produces natural warmth in your body; and in stimulating the peristaltic motion of the intestines, it aids in assimilation and elimination.
• Cayenne regulates the flow of blood from the head to the feet so that the pressure is equalized; it influences the heart immediately, then gradually extends its effects to the arteries, capillaries, and nerves (the frequency of the pulse is not increased, but is given more vigor).
• Human circulation; it is warming; dilating; specific for varicose veins; equalizes the blood pressure in the arterial and venous system; equalizes blood pressure instantly actually.
• Cayenne is useful in alleviating allergies, muscle cramp, improving digestion, gives more pep and energy, and helps wound healing with minimal scar tissue.
• Cayenne is a counter-irritant; it brings blood to the surface and allows the toxins to be taken away.
In an article reported on March 16, 2006 by Reuters, the main ingredient in Cayenne, capsaicin, was found to destroy prostate cancer cells. Here is what the article said,
“Capsaicin led 80 percent of human prostate cancer cells growing in mice to commit suicide in a process known as apoptosis, the researchers said. Prostate cancer tumors in mice fed capsaicin were about one-fifth the size of tumors in untreated mice, they reported in the journal Cancer Research. ‘Capsaicin had a profound anti-proliferative effect on human prostate cancer cells in culture,’ said Dr. Soren Lehmann of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and the University of California Los Angeles School of Medicine.”
• Capsicum supports the natural beat (rhythm) of the viscera and interior actions of the glandular, circulatory, lymphatic, and digestive systems. It has been used with great success as a cure for spotted fever (?); the most active stimulant to support and re-animate feeble or exhausted powers.
• This is a medicine of great value in the practice, and may be safely used in all cases of disease, to raise and retain the internal vital heat of the system, cause a free perspiration, and keep the determining powers to the surface. The only preparation is to have it reduced to a fine powder. For a dose, take from half to a teaspoonful in hot water or tea sweetened with honey.
• Dr. Coffin includes cayenne pepper in his composition powder to restore the normal function of the body in the various stages of pregnancy and childbirth. For morning sickness he recommends a combination of ‘White poplar bark, agrimony, centaury, raspberry leaves, yarrow and rhubarb, each a quarter of an ounce, steep in two quarts of water, strain, and add while hot two teaspoons of powdered cinnamon, half a teaspoonful of Cayenne pepper, and let the patient take one tablespoonful every three hours until the symptoms are removed if this should not relieve, give an emetic and repeat if necessary.
• Great for heartburn.
• Capsicum is a powerful rubefacient.
• Capsicum is a general nervous stimulant; a specific for delirium tremens.
• For atonic gout, in paralysis, in dropsy, in tympanitis, and in the debilitated stages of fever.
• For scrofulous; dyspepsia; flatulence; it’s an excellent carminative.
• For sore throats—gargle (prepare the gargle with honey); for spasmodic and irritating coughs; heartburn and diarrhea;
• Enables feeble stomachs to digest food; for atonic dyspepsia; specific for hemorrhoids; cures intermittent fever; Capsicum has the power to control menorrhagia; relieves sea-sickness;
• In delirium tremens it is beneficial by enabling the patient to retain and digest food.
• Capsicum is particularly efficient in tonsillitis, and the sore throat of scarlet fever and in diphtheria no application is so efficient as a strong gargle or wash make with Capsicum.
• Promote digestion; relieves pains of the womb; removes obstructed menstruation; for quinsy; for all diseases of the throat; use as a plaster with honey for rheumatic pains, pains of the joints, gout, swellings, etc.; Use outwardly as a liniment, apply it warm or hot for arthritis and rheumatism; gargle for scarlet fever; use an infusion for ulcers in the mouth, strep throat or tonsillitis.
• Cayenne is an excellent remedy for a cold; mix infusion with slippery elm and molasses or honey, and take in doses throughout the day; also excellent for sore throat and coughs.
• Cayenne mixed with pennyroyal (an herb) taken for three days will expel the dead birth material from a miscarriage.
• Eases toothache; preserves the teeth from rotting, and when rubbed on the gums, stimulates them enough to prevent pyorrhea.
• Excellent for any type of internal hemorrhage, (create an infusion with bethroot or star root);
• Capsicum is an important remedy in cholera; Capsicum stops vomiting; combine with equal parts of Capsicum and common table salt, one half ounce of each, one pint of good vinegar, give in tablespoon doses for cholera, vomiting “cholera morbus” — the gross material associated with cholera from the system
• In chronic lumbago a plaster of Capsicum with garlic, pepper and liquid amber (silarasa) or storax is an efficient stimulant and rubefacient application.
• When made into a lozenge with sugar and tragacanth it is a remedy for hoarseness.
• For a carminative make pills of equal parts of Capsicum, rhubarb and ginger or aloes.
• Combine Capsicum with cinchona for intermittent and lethargic affections and for atonic gout and in advanced stages of rheumatism.
• Combine with asafoetida and sweet flag root or camphor in the form of pills in cases of cholera.
• Capsicum has a powerful action on the mucous membrane, and in hoarseness and sore throat, and in putrid throat a gargle made of Capsicum is particularly beneficial.
• By pouring hot vinegar upon the fruits of Capsicum all the essential qualities are preserved. This vinegar is an excellent stomachic.
• The whole plant steeped in milk is successfully applied to reduce swellings and hardened tumors.
• An infusion with cinnamon and sugar is a valuable drink for patients suffering from delirium tremens as it satisfies the craving in dipsomaniacs. A dose of ten grains of finely powdered capsicum seed, given with an ounce of hot water, two or three times a day, sometimes shows wonderful effects in cases of delirium tremens.
• Capsicum can be used in the treatment of a snake bite.
• As well as the fruit being used as a spice, the leaves were applied to ulcers and headaches.
• Capsicum is given internally in atonic dyspepsia and flatulence. It is used externally as a counter-irritant in the form of ointment, plaster, medicated wool, etc. for the relief of rheumatism and lumbago.
• Oral administration of Capsicum may stimulate the gall bladder reflex.
• Capsicum either contains a cholagogue, or acts as a powerful stimulus upon the mucous membrane of the duodenum.
• Cayenne pepper is forgotten therapeutic agent against anorexia, liver congestion, and vascular troubles. Capsicum is highly effective in causing hemorrhoids to regress; and these fruits have the same action on varicose veins. The results are attributed to alkaloids or glucosides in the peppers.
• Excessive amounts of Capsicum (above 20 grams, thus, nearly an ounce) may induce frequent bowel movements.
• Cayenne stimulates the appetite, more especially as a hot climate tends to produce anorexia. We have always held the saliva is the key that unlocks the door to digestion. Capsicum, a sialogogue, will stimulate the flow of saliva and will be very helpful to people who have become accustomed to ‘inhaling’ their food and thus robbing themselves of the benefits of saliva in the digestive process. Capsicum would stimulate their flow of saliva as they return to a healthier attitude toward eating.
• Capsicum may be valuable in the prevention and treatment of blood clots.
• Cayenne pepper is very soothing; it is effective as a poultice for rheumatism, inflammation, pleurisy, and helpful also if taken internally for these. For sores and wounds it makes a good poultice. It is a stimulant when taken internally as well as being antispasmodic. Good for kidneys, spleen and pancreas; wonderful for lockjaw; will heal a sore ulcerated stomach; Capsicum is a specific and very effective remedy for yellow fever, as well as other fevers and may be taken in capsules followed by a glass of water.

I used to do a lot of juicing in the past but it is very time-consuming and messy. We still juice at home but these past 2 years I find myself making more super nutritious smoothies than juices. Making smoothies is a great alternative to juicing. It is much faster, less messy, and you also get all the fiber in addition to juice.
I must note that if a person has a critical health situation then juicing is the way to go.
OK so the smoothie I am bringing to you today is a tasty papaya, frozen mango and sprouts smoothie.
Now wait just a second I saw that look on your face (those of you that just raised your eyebrows). It does not taste bad and its very healthy for you, trust me on this.
Papaya as you may already know comes alongside to aid digestion. This occurs because of its high content of Papain, an enzyme similar to Pepsin (which is produced by the gastric juices of the stomach). This enzyme plays a very important role in protein digestion and aids the digestive system with other difficulties that may be present. Enzymes are needed for the digestive system to work properly. They are necessary to break down food particles so they can be utilized for energy.
Its important to note that improper protein breakdown in the digestive system often leads to allergies as I found out these last 9 years of health research. So if you suffer from allergies, you just might be lacking digestive enzymes like those found in papaya. Other symptoms you can experience if you’re lacking enzymes are bloating, belching, gas, bowel disorders, abdominal cramping and heartburn.
Sprouted grains, seeds and legumes are another fantastic way to add living enzymes to your diet. You may not know this, but sprouts are among the most powerful enzyme-rich foods on the planet. For this recipe you can use alfalfa or sunflower sprouts.
The frozen mango gives it a nice flavor and removes the need to add ice which waters down the nutritional content.
You will need:
2 tablespoons of sprouts
1 cup of frozen mango
1 cup of sliced papaya without seeds (I leave the skin on when using organic papaya to increase the nutritional value of the smoothie)
1 cup of organic sweetened Kefir or organic coconut milk or gluten free organic vanilla rice milk
Optional
3 tablespoons of organic coconut sugar
1 teaspoon of organic unprocessed virgin coconut oil
½ teaspoon of organic chia seeds
Once you have all your ingredients ready place them with the softest item first to enable good and even blending. So your order should look like this: liquid, optional items, sprouts, papaya, and frozen mango. Blend until nice and smooth and share with a friends or a loved one. They will thank you for it.
May the Green be with you™.
